1. Q. How far is the distance on our Saturday walk?
A. The ideal number of steps to complete the walking exercise is to achieve 10,000 steps per day at least 5 Days per week. Though the number of steps can vary depending on your stride and speed, one mile tends to be about 2,000 steps. We will try and walk 2 miles on our Saturday workout.

A. Our director is a physician who leads the book discussion, serves as a tour guide and health resource, and supports the goals of the program. It is an opportunity to read and ramble. When we "Walk the Talk", we feed our physical , mental, emotional , and spiritual health.

3. Q. Why did you choose the morning for your walking club meeting?
A. Some research suggests that walking/running in the morning is optimal for weight loss.
4. Q. What are some of the barriers to walking?
A. There are many challenges to staying active and staying healthy. Just as building foot bridges made a tremendous impact on the lives of children in the remote parts of Kenya, our walking club
will bring to our community new smiles for hope and health.

5. Q. Do I need a medical assessment and clearance for exercise?
A. People without diagnosed chronic conditions ( such as diabetes mellitus, heart disease, or osteoarthritis) and who do not have symptoms ( such as chest pain or pressure, dizziness, or joint pain) do not need preparticipation screening or to consult a healthcare provider about physical activity.6. Q. Should I do any warm up exercises before walking?

7. Q. Should we eat something before our workout?
A. Yes. The American College of Sports Medicine says, “Adequate food and fluid should be consumed before, during, and after exercise to help maintain blood glucose concentration during exercise, maximize exercise performance, and improve recovery time. You don’t need to eat during a workout that’s an hour or less.
